Engineering Coordinator – Kendal

Days – Rotating Mon-Fri – Mon-Thur & Sat
Salary: £40,000 – £44,000 + Profit Share Bonus, Company Medical Cash Plan + Pension Scheme

The Company
An excellent opportunity has arisen with one of the most secure manufacturing groups in the UK. The group continue to expand, based on the reputation they have built for quality and delivery of products to a varied client base. The site has recently expanded its operation with a significant investment in new equipment as part of a longer term strategic growth plan.
The Role
To maintain optimum plant performance in own allocated operations area whilst continually improving and contributing specialist technical knowledge to other areas or engineering disciplines on site.
Key Accountabilities:
- Co-ordinates a 5-shift maintenance craft team, ensuring they are deployed effectively to provide the appropriate level of service to the Operating Division.
- Provides supervision of contractors under jobholder’s control.
- Provides technical support to area of accountability and other engineering co-ordinators and craftsmen, sometimes out of hours by a Company mobile phone.
- Ensures plant and equipment in the area of accountability is effectively maintained for optimum plant performance.
- Identifies and specifies specialist resources and spares requirements, for areas of accountability, in conjunction with Purchasing & Stores.
- Endeavours to maintain compliance with maintenance and operational legislative requirements and Company policies and procedures.
- Co-ordinates engineering activities in Papermaking Division during weekends, working to a roster with the other Engineering Co-ordinators.
- Responsible for the safe working of employees and contractors under the jobholder’s control.
- Deputises for other Engineering Co-ordinators as required.
